Digital Pianos

Kawai CA51

The Kawai CA51 is as a wonderful example of the improvements that have been made to digital pianos during the last few years. Wooden key graded hammer action, together with an 80-watt 4-speaker sound system, leave little distinction between this premium digital piano and an acoustic upright from a player's point of view. And the deep, rich piano timbres produced by the matched speaker system would cause most listeners to think they were hearing the sound of a real acoustic piano. This is a digital piano worth playing - it might sway even the most dedicated acoustic purist into recognizing its value!

Kawai CN21

This entry level model delivers tremendous value for beginner to intermediate piano students. The touch of the Kawai weighted action keyboard is so close to that of an upright acoustic that teachers would recommend it in an instant over the old acoustic uprights many of our students are practicing on today. It is a piano worth playing - come in soon and give it a try!

Kawai CL25

This compact instrument provides far more value to a beginner piano student than a 61-note portable keyboard. It's 88-note weighted key action, sustain pedal, and included x-bench give the student a wonderful head start on piano playing success. Small dimensions, true piano sound, and affordable price make it an ideal choice for anyone needing a piano but lacking the space to accommodate a full size model.

Kawai ES4

The ES4 portable piano is perfect for any musician who needs keys to go! Weighted action keyboard, the famous Kawai piano sound, pro-level connecting jacks, and sturdy body construction make it the complete gigging piano. Other features like on-board practice speakers, 20 extra instrument sounds, built-in effects, and 2-track practice recorder are cool extras on an already exceptional instrument any keyboard player would love to own.

Why Buy
A Digital Piano?

There are many people attracted by the convenience offered by a digital piano. Some examples are students in the early stages of learning, people with a lifestyle too busy to properly care for an acoustic, or folks who live in an environment where an acoustic piano would intrude into the lives of others.

Students just starting lessons usually lack the skills to produce the full, rich sounds of an acoustic piano. Most digital pianos produce sounds that are quite acceptable for learning. And since they never go out of tune, the notes heard by the student are always at correct pitch, a wonderful aid to ear training. Also, with the ability to control volume, students in busy homes can commit to a practice schedule without disrupting the activities of other family members.

The busy schedules of today's working families leave little time to care for a fine musical instrument. Yet in many of these families there is often one person (or more) who would love the opportunity to end the day unwinding at the keys of a "still in tune" piano. Digital pianos are very popular in such families.

Folks living in apartments or condominiums are frequent buyers of digital pianos. Playing an acoustic piano late at night is rarely acceptable when the next door neighbour is just one wall away! Many a retired couple visits the local piano store to purchase a digital after just having given the family acoustic to one of their children!

And of course gigging musicians and computer-based composers can now access a vast new world of musical possibilities through the versatility of the digital piano. Portability, compatibility with other digital devices, and the ability to access and control enormous banks of sounds makes the keyboard player's contribution to current popular music practically limitless.

The acoustic piano will always have its place in the world of music, but digital pianos are becoming more popular each year. Their convenience and versatility have captured the hearts of keyboard musicians everywhere.

Of course, the only real way to win the argument of which is better is to own one of each!
